What is Hypopressive (Low Pressure Fitness), Why Should You Do It?
Hypopressive / low pressure fitness is a breathing & postural training.
It is called low pressure, as we decrease the abdominal pressure: the pressure on the pelvic floor and on the belly.
We do this by breathing to the ribcage and not to the belly, where most of us would breathe normally.
And why is this good?
Because with this breathing pattern we activate the deep core:
- the diaphragm
- the multifidus muscle
- the transverse abdominis (corset ab)
- the pelvic floor muscles
We will learn how to
- decompress the spine and stretch and activate the myofascial chains for less back pain, more mobility, more flexibility and better posture.
- tone and relax the pelvic floor for less incontinence symptoms.
- Reactivate our corset ab, the transverse abdominis for a flatter belly and slimmer waist.
